What is the BizCamp?
The BizCamp is a free-flowing, casual, new type of UnConference aimed at fostering a community of entrepreneurs. The conference’s most important designer and planner is…You. There’s no set schedule, no list of topics to cover. Rather, we’ve handed over the event to you, the attendee. YOU come up with your plan of action. YOU design the event. Our job is to provide successful local entrepreneurs for you to learn from and connect with in an informal and fun setting. The rest is up to you. This is your conference, and we couldn’t be more excited for you to show us what it will be.

And, oh yeah, the cost is completely free, and we’re throwing in a complimentary lunch to keep you fed.

…That all sounds great, but how will it work?
We envision the conference being set up as a series of informal sessions where successful entrepreneurs will share what they’ve learned in the biz world of New Orleans, listen to what you’re thinking, and connect with you, the up-and-coming stars of New Orleans. Rather than making pitches, think of the conference as a forum to share what you’ve learned, confess mistakes you’ve made, or talk about triumphs you’ve had. We’ll break up the day into 15 and 30 minute sessions, and you pick and choose where you want to be. Proposed sessions will likely be: how to assure you get paid, inventory management, marketing via social media, basic core structures, etc. etc.

What will I get from this BizCamp?
After the BizCamp you’ll have a day of connecting and learning from successful entrepreneurs, be better equipped to run your own business, gain a better understanding of the tools that small businesses use, and learn about resources available to entrepreneurs. You’ll get a free lunch (who said there was no such thing?), and a bunch of new contacts in the entrepreneurial world of New Orleans.

So what do I do?
Show up and tell us what you want to talk about. We’ll loosely organize groups based on topic, give you a space to work in, and let you run free. There’ll be plenty of time to network, share, meet, greet, learn, dance, whatever. Sign up now.
